Walls, Loft and Roof!!!!

lots and lots of pictures. This month was a hot month and i was able to get allot done. Each and every single day i worked on the tiny house, from sunrise to sunset.
seething seething seething seething tyvek tyvek tyvek

have to protect the wood with some dupont tyvek. I advise to really research the options in tyvek. wouldn't advise on the lowes brand as it seems cheap, plus the cost of a good tyvek or any material of quality is minimal for such a tiny house, its worth the extra cash.

protecting the roof, i learned putting grace ice and water shield on a very hot hot day makes it even more sticky. also learned putting it on by your self in long sections like this makes you hate how sticky it is. I had to get creative and use a long 2x4 that was 12 feet long and use it to help push the overlap up equally. I didn't get it the first time or second time or even the third time but the fourth time on the same piece and two hours later. Each time i did another piece it was easier and easier.

safety is always first. goggles and face mask, you don't want to be inhaling saw dust and get it in your eyes either. also a good hat for the sun is always welcomed

nice view from my loft, getting this big heavy beam up by my self was all about leverage and balance. my nephew helped me out allot so it wasn't all by my self but one thing i learned a long time ago from a very wise man, ( scrooge mcduck) " work smarter not harder". so i used leverage and balance to get this heavy beam up on the loft to get the roof beam ready for the next day.

  1. Awesome work Mario! Looks amazing! I’m actually building the same house (Cyprus 20 left porch Overlook)! Like you, I have no real prior experience and I hope to be where you are by winter. I’m in CT and winter is nasty here. I’m about to get started and I have the Tumbleweed trailer. I was curious though, did you manage to get the extra 3 1/2 inches of headroom into the loft?

Also, how closely did you follow the materials list? Any major deviations?

Thanks for your time man, and thanks for the inspiration!

    • Eric, congrats !!!!!

Excited for you and you will enjoy this journey. http://Www.instagram.com/limechili777 my Instagram has way more updates and pictures . Also the dormers make a world of difference . One thing I would recommend is extend the dormers out a few feet more passed the 8 feet in the specs . Look at tiny house giant journey, it will allow you to make stairs on the side go up and not hit your head on the side of the roof. I wish I did that to mine. Also the material list is pretty spot on, I recomend doing things in phases, getting your materials in phases and research the different things you can get for the inside . The wood materials for the frame and roof I recomend don’t divert from that , the inside for the appliances and windows, research. Understand what the different materials are, the cost can change from 3k for all your windows to 8k just in metal cladding Versus vinyl. Don’t heistste to reach out to me if you have any other questions. Instagram is the best to respond to as j can reply quicker there
